The Time Is Far Spent. Oh My Days.

Hey everyone! This is my 2nd-to-last time I will probably write a mass-email. Oh my gosh. The mission is ending.

I don't know what to say.

Anyways, we had a good week! We taught loads of people and found some amazing people. And we found a baby seagull in a member's back garden. Hilarious. I hate seagulls.

We also got to have a great church meeting which was probably... the most hilarious church meeting ever. This guy came to church, named Danny, he's a guy form malaysia that moved to Jersey some years abck and had a serious nervous breakdown when he was here (bless him) so he's a bit... funny. Anyways he goes to a different church but loves missionaries (especially sister missionares lol)

so we had a joint priesthood and relief society meeting, and after it he just gets up there and says "brotehrs and sisters. I want to sing a song to you. " and sings this random song? HAHA it was hilarious. And then after he starts telling his life story and we're all like "ugh... here he goes" it was so funny. Anyways, it was quite memorable.

I'll get pictures of him.

Also, my bike pedal broke off! while getting to the library. LOL. great.

have a great week everyone. love ya'll!

Amazing Week! Stressful!!

Hey everyone, this week has been awesome, we taught 25 lessons! We have just been on fire. Elder Wessman is an absolute boss. He makes me laugh like 9/10 times. And he's a hard worker too. This transfer is going to be a good one, as long as he can stand me for more than 5 minutes :)

We had 4 people at church on sunday. we had to arrange lifts for them all! Itwas SO stressful because NO ONE was answering their phones, we were going to flippin' break some heads. But Brother Mckenzie came to the rescue, our ward mission leader, he's probably the best ward mission leader I've had the chance to work with in the mission. He's got a heart of gold. Also, he was in the british pageant, as one of the main actors, so if you've heard of it or seen it you'll know who I'm talking about.

We have this guy in the ward, named Pops, that's what everyone calls him, he's a flippin Great Great grandfather. Serious. He's 90. Actually, he's Brother Mckenzie's grandpa. But he's hilarious. he walks everywhere in town, wears a suit everywhere, and he has thousands of ties. I'd send you a photo but again, my camera sucks. And he loves las vegas, and he loves to talk. He told us about how he went to vegas, put in 20 dollars on a craps table for fun, was there for 14 hours and got 3700$. HAHA! He told his bishop and his bishop jsut goes, "Hey you owe me tithing then." HAHA

We also saw elizabeth castle which was AWESOME. the sights here are lovely. I've been lucky enough to have almost 2 weeks of brilliant sunny weather. i've gotten burnt a few times already. Apparently the "o-zone" is really weak here or something like that. Crazy. I'm getitn tan for when i get home init!!!

Well the gospel is true, I know it. We had a very spiritual week. Also, satan is attacking us full-force. Its been hard but worth the effort. Read your scriptures, pray often, learn of His teachings. Love you all.

I'm Going To The Real Jersey Shore!!

Hey everyone, this week was fantastic!!! I got a call from president Millar, he is sending me to Jersey!! for my last 6 weeks. I'm going to be a District Leader with Elder Wessman, whoever that is. We'll find out!!!

I'm super pumped! And also REALLY FLIPPIN SAD that I'm leaving aldershot! So many great members of the ward. I cried in testimony meeting at some of thepeople bearing their testimonies. I am so sad to leave this great family. BUT I know I have to move on! So yeah, my last transfer will be in jersey, i hope time flies fast but also taht I get loads of photos! Everyone I've told has said "Oh my gosh I'm so jealous, I'd love to go to Jersey for holiday!!" HAHA So I'm pumped.

I wonder if New jersey was named after the island of jersey? who knows. But yeah.. only downside right now is that I've got to pack like only 25 pounds for the plane ride there. HAHA

The computer here SUCKS at uploading photos. UGH... so sorry that I don't have many. I'll have way more next monday when I'm living it up in JERSEY!! Oh my days I'm so pumped. I'll be more tan than ya'll when i get back!!! Probably not :)

Also, we had a baptism on Saturday, 2 actaully, it was the sister's investigators, Dave and Ruth. It was absolutely brilliant. I've not slowed down the work yet, even though we only taught 12 lessons this week we found 3 new investigators and have 2 people (soon to be 4 hopefully) with baptismal dates. I'm leaving the area on fire!!! The lord has really blessed us. I hope Elder mackay and Dean tear it up here! (Elder Dean is replacing me.)

Have to get going, love you all lots!

I Hate Bank Holidays!!

Hey everyone, tomorrow is, yet again, a stupid bank holiday!!! UGH!!! I'd love them if it weren't for the fact that the library is closed, and I'm a missionary, so I can't really do much about e-mailing! We're still going to e-mail tomorrow, but I won't have as much time.

Anyways, I just thought I'd send some photos to you guys, and I'll reply to all of you tomorrow! Promise.

Pretty Long Week

Hey everyone, its been a long week, and not much time. But hey, we did some service for Joy, I saw a palm tree (in England! what!!) and we ate food at a nepaelse family's on Sunday. it was great. She makes great food, don't know whats in it though.

We're still working hard. Things are a bit tough at the moment. We're not experiencing much sucess but I'm not going to let it get me down. People have their agency after all.

With the small amount of time left I want to let you all know that this mission has changed me, fundamentally. But at the same time, my "natural man" always is there, which is annoying. I want so badly to be better than where I was 2 years ago, or even 1 year ago, or 6 months ago. My advice is to look at how The atonement can change your self-discipline, or self-control. That's been helping me recently. I love you all!

Happy Mother's Day!!

Well guys, it was mother's day, and I don't have much time at the moment. but let me tell you all that it was a great mother's day! It was awesome to hear from my family and Timmy and BDN. Love you all. But hey, it was also a good week. We just today got 2 baptismal dates! Which is sweet. I'll let you know more about them when we see them next week, but its a lady Nicola and her friend Veronica whose from Hungary.

Okay well yes I've felt so strongly after yesterday, that the most important thing at this point in my mission (and should I say life) is just... having the right attitude. Not being "compelled in all things" but doing things of our own desires. And I don't really know how to necessarily gain that desire, but after yesterday it just hit me, that I desire to live the gospel. I desire to treat things with the respect necessary, like the sabbath day or sacrament meeting or priesthood or whatever.

Anyways, it was awesome and I love you all, sorry I can't get back to everyone! But I got all your e-mails and I loved them.

Moves, Baptism, Easter, etc.

Okay well, good news everyone. Its the sabbath today. Why is that good news? you all get to rest this day! I don´t though. I´ll get over it.

I´m using a weird spanish keyboard right now. here I´ll show you: ñÑÇç¿¿??

Why am I using a spanish keyboard? well tomorrow, our pday, is a bank holiday!!! Or in american, its a national holiday. Not really any celebration, people just like to take random days off here in England. Sooo, the library is closed tomorrow. I´ll send a better mass e'mail tomorrow. WIth pictures of mel´s baptism. Also, i´ll send a picture of what i see on this screen, its hilarious, every single word is "mispelled" because the keyboard is in spanish.

Oh yeah, that´s why I´m on a spanish keyboard. We´re at a member´s house at the moment, a spanish woman who Elder Remon and I found on the street a few weeks back, and we´re using her computer to e'mail and let you guys know that we don´t know how long we can use thecomputer tomorrow.

ALSO, moves. Elder Remon is going to kennington, in London :( sad day. I´m getting elder Mackay, have no idea what he´s like but president millar called me just to tell me that he´s a good cook... thanks i guess..? HAHA but yeah Elder Remon is going to be sorely missed. probably one of my favorite companions.

have to go, love yall, might write more tomorrow. if not, whoops! but I´ll send photos tomorrow

love,

elder blumenthal

More pictures of what went on in the week!!!
We took Mel to the temple, and it was PERFECTO. And the coolest part about the temple, is that every single time I've went to bring an investigator, I've seen someone from one of my previous wards. This time it was... MAD DOG RON!!! AKA Calum and Hannah's dad. He was mowing the lawn just like Dad. it was awesome. Totes got a photo with him.
The baptism was awesome. Brother Phillips the Ward Mission leader baptised mel, in spanish, it was awesome, he did it pretty good too for having broken spanish. Haha. She even got up afterwards and bore her testimony. It was so cool. I'm confident that we baptized a convert on Saturday.
Anyways, thank you for the e-mails everyone, sorry I don't have time this week! love ya!

Continuing To Work In The Vineyard

Well, this week we worked hard. We taught 15 lessons. We spent a bunch of time just talking to people in the high street. We didn't really get many new investigators out of it though. BUT I know Heavenly Father is waiting to bless us. AND, the best part of this week, is that Mel's baptism is solid!! April 19!! We're so excited. We've got to really rush to get everything ready for the service.

Well, this library;s computer sucks so much. its the slowest thing in the world. Oh my days. So sorry if there's a bunch of mistakes in my typing, it takes like 10 seconds for the words to appear on the screen.

Well yes, the other good news is that I got my call, and I'mc oming home the 16th of July. Oh my days!!! 3 months. No time. I'm scared. And In just a week is transfers!!! I hope Elder Remon doesn't leave. We have too much fun together. He's such a boss. And there's like 15 people we teach that speak spanish, so it sucks if he left, I can't speak spanish!!!

A funny story, is that I bought a nice suit at TK maxx last P-day (yes, they call it TK Maxx in england...)  and guess what, the lady forgot to take off the magnetic tag thing!!! UGH!!! And tis the one that explodes ink if you break it off. Oh my days.

Also, on top of that, while walking home, the rain was really hard and it exploded my bag! so my recepit got washed away in the rain!!! So I don't know what I'm going to do about it, but I want my blue trousers dangit!!!

On the bright side, today is a nice day and the sun is out. Woot! and Mel's baptism. WOOT WOOT!!! Haha.

love you all, thank you for the e-mails, you're all wonderful.
