Four Weeks In Maidstone Already!!!

Dear everyone, this week has flown by way too fast. i don't know where the time went. i honestly don't remember much throughout the week either, which I guess is good? Or bad? I don't know, haha!

We had a Multi-zone conference where I got to finally see Elder Ormsby, my MTC companion!!!! It was awesome to see him again! He's serving in Brighton, which is basically right by where my last area was in haywards heath. (just south of it)

We learned about what exactly the church is doing about this whole "Book of Mormon" musical coming out. They're really going all out on advertisements and such to spread the word! Russel M. Nelson was right when he said that the last days are here and that the work is going at a blinding pace now (or something like that!)

We received training (Kind of) on how to prep members with their missionary work when this comes out. The 2 questions people will probably ask us as members of the church are, 1: What is the book of mormon? and 2: Why is your church doing this??

Be prepared to answer those questions!!! It will prove to you guys that you can be member missionaries and have missionary experiences all the time.

Anyways, enough about that. This week was awesome and we met a really cool guy named Dan on the street! Just walking along to an appointment (we were already late to... woops) we talked to him and he was really nice, we're seing him later today. He's 18 and is in the Army, and has already been to afghanistan!!! Holy cow. But he's very humble and willing to learn about how the Lord can help him and each of us.

I have to write President, but I'm grateful for all that you guys do and the e-mails I get form each of you! Thank you so much and I hope you're preparing yourselves for the work of the Lord that is progressing. Never forget to study the scriptures and brush up on the answers to life's great questions that the Book of Mormon gives us. I challenge each of you to read the Book of Mormon with questions in mind, questions that only God can give you direction for. I promise than in some way he'll answer you.

Happy Valentine's Day!??

Hey everyone,

Apparently it was Valentine's day? Well I guess I'm a missionary so I shouldn't be thinking about that sort of stuff. Haha! But yeah this week went really well! In England their "fat tuesday" is national Pancake day, so we had loads of pancakes at the Mansfield's house! It was so nice. Me and Elder Hegerhorst also found a guy named Alex from Afghanistan who is basically the most chill guy ever. We taught him about how the church of Jesus Christ has been restored and he seemed to accept everything, so yeah, that guy's awesome!!!

We also saw a guy named Ollie who lives right by our flat. He's really nice too, and he literally has had NO religious background ever before meeting missionaries, but still is open minded and everything! Just goes to show that you don't have to be christian, muslim, or anything prior to hearing the words of Christ in the Book of Mormon to know that they are true. I have a testimony of that and I love to share it with others.

Other than that the week went by really well. We've picked up 4 new investigators which is amazing!!! Also had an interesting day at church, that one crazy guy from a few weeks back who got up in testimony meeting came back to church for some reason? Yeah and he was apparently probably going to do something stupid, but some big guy Brother kierzinowski (I think I spelled it right) was like "watch yourself today." and he never moved after that. Haha!!

Well thank you for the e-mail everyone, sorry that I couldn't be quicker with things, I've got very limited time today. Love you all and I pray that you are all reading from the scriptures often and praying often as well. its through these small and simple acts of respect that we see the most blessings in our lives.

No Time To E-Mail!

Hey all, I've just realized that I have less time than usual on computers in Maidstone, so I'll be quick with the e-mail. our week has been awesome! We've been contacting/knocking more than ever before on my mission, but its been a good week!!! We went on the high street and contacted for like 2 hours at a time, because we were only supposed to go 1 hour but we had so much fun we went for another hour. haha! A woman even came to church (who was ianctive) because she saw us in the High street and felt impressed to come back to church. How awesome is that? We've definitely been blessed in this area.

We also are still working with Joe, a really cool kid we're planning to baptize soon. he's almost 18 years old, he's struggling to come to church but just because he gets nervous before coming (we all have that sometimes) but despite that he's solid as a rock, he even texts us about scriptures and such. Love that guy.

Another cool story this week is we took Steve, a recent convert only a few weeks ago, out knocking doors! He was totally cool with it, it was awesome! Haha! And we found a few really solid potential investigators as well. They were all young single girls as well, so we joked "Steve its because of your good looks man!" haha. Anyways, I ahve to get going, thanks for the e-mails this week, love you guys!!!

First Week In Maidstone!!

Hey everyone, this might have to be a short e-mail... but I'll try to make it worth it.

I was transferred to Maidstone and my new companion is Elder Hegerhorst. He's from American Fork, utah. He's the coolest though! He was serving in Redhill in the Crawley zone so I actually saw him quite a bit before I became his companion. We even would have P-days together with Elder Wainwright and Elder Fingerle. So its great to have a good companion you can get along with.

The ward is really cool! But its a bit bigger than Haywards heath ward. So it almost loses its "home" feel. but not really, i think that might just be because I don't know anyone in the ward too well. But I had a very interesting Fast and Testimony meeting!!! It was definitely a good one though.

I did meet a few of the members, and the ones I remember are:
-Steve, a guy who was baptized just a few weeks ago, who just got the Aaronic priesthood yesterday
-Kim, a woman who was baptized in november and is solid as a rock, she's so cool. Apparently we've heard she wants to go knock doors with us! woah! haha
-The Morgans, who we saw on Sunday for a lunch appointment, they're really funny. Brother Morgan was making me and Elder Hegerhorst bust up laughing so much about his old mission stories in the Manchester Mission
 - Sister Mansfield, who (I think?) introduced the church to Kim, and is really genuine and nice. She cooks us dinner quite a bit as well

Well i forget everyone else, but I'll see if I can't remember next week. Anyways, I have to get going. but thanks for the e-mails everyone!!! Maidstone is a relaly cool place but its full of people!!! its way bigger than Haywards Heath. Which is good. Elder Hegerhorst is a really good and obedient missionary as well, so he's giving me an example to look up to.

Until Next week,
-Elder Blumenthal
